An apartment in the historic center of Genoa, with a valuable surface and within a historic building, reinterprets the existing wall traces in order to aggregate new meanings.

The original distribution, hardly compatible with a contemporary use of the house, is partly maintained and takes advantage of the insertion of a series of elements which, parasitizing the existing ones, allow the creation of more spacious service spaces.

Boxes inside boxes, which open and give alternating meaning to the common areas of the living room, distribution, kitchen and services, adopt a logic that allows, depending on the needs, a more or less extensive occupation of the apartment.

The same mechanism allows, if necessary, to hide the technological equipment and services, assigning greater protagonism to the rest of the house.
